- Ride the Red Rock cycle trails - adjacent to your Lodge
- Enjoy a round - this one at Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Course, part of the James Braid Golf Trail
- Enjoy another round - this one in the Plough Inn - the historic Rosemarkie pub
- Waterfalls? - find them in the Fairy Glen, a mile from Hopefield Cottage
- Mermaid fanatic - don't go to Copenhagen, try Balintore - it's better

- Get disorientated? - try our local orienteering course to find your way
- King of the Road? - Drive the A832 from Cromarty to Braemore Junction UK's longest A road, 126 miles, confined to a single county
- You've got to go - Nessie lives about 30 miles from Flowerburn
- Spot a Crannog - Beauly Firth at low tide ( Don't ask me )
- Only for the very fit - get to the top of Ben Wyvis - you won't need to tour the North of Scotland - you'll see it all from there
- Not so keen on steep climbs take the gonola up Aonach Mor
- Even less adventurous - try the funicular at Aviemore
- One for the kids - water slides at Landmark, Carrbridge
- A sight to remember - the worlds largest cruise liners pass through the Sutors at Cromarty
- Like men in kilts? They're tossing cabers and throwing hammers at the Highland Games
- Be a man in a kilt - buy one in Inverness - useful in a globally warmed world
- Kiddie heaven at Whin Park, Inverness - mini railway, boating pond, pirate ship, maxi slide, etc
- Life's a beach - the one at Rosemarkie has sandy stretches, rock pools, beach cafe - just like it should be
- Indian Gateway on a Scottish hilltop - there's one on Cnoc Fyrish. Walking boots required
- Can't bear to leave your horse at home - take it with you as we have stalls and paddocks and great hacking
- Leave no stone unturned - that's how to find the fossils on Eathie Beach
- Like a bit of Spring colour - Azaeleas, Rhododendrons at Flowerburn and Broom & Gorse all over
- Pine Martins are elusive but you might entice one to your Lodge balcony with a bit of bread and jam
- Dedicated tourist - take the day return trip from Inverness to Orkney - well worth it
- A bit batty - a colony of Long -eared ones live here - join the bat count in June
- UK's most scary road - go over the Bealach na Ba to Applecross
- One for bookworms - Leakeys - Scotlands biggest 2nd hand bookshop is in Inverness
- Oil rig parking lot - that's the Cromarty Firth on a busy day
- Windmills - love them or hate them, they're here to stay. Visit the ones at Causeymire - they keep the UK in electricity for 2hrs 35 mins per year!
- Fresh salmon for dinner - buy one from the salmon fishers on Rosemarkie beach
- Take your car on the Cromarty Rose - is this Britains smallest car ferry
- Shopping - visit ANTA - the prices are amazing as the goods
- Bit of a foodie - ther are lots of good restaurants in the area
- Photography - the light, the colour, the scenery, the wildlife - make a record of your fantastic holiday!
